In our January Meeting Dave Hamilton and Wally Clever gave us advice and information for planning a hunting trip to Canada.

Ozarks Fly Fishers

In our February Meeting Bob Temper gave us the ins and outs of the Ozark Fly Fishers organization and fly fishing tips for our annual pilgrimmage to Lake Taneycomo.

In our April Meeting we held our annual fish fry, which is our number one money raising event of the year. There were many silent auctions and live auctions hosted by Mr. Rhodes, the auctioneer. There were many items auctioned off and raffle drawings, from Remington shotguns and muzzle loaders, duck hunts to outdoor prints. The food was fantastic and the event was a great time!

May 9th Members Meeting

In our May Meeting we had a great event. Jim Liefield, with the St Charles area wood carvers, came and spoke to us about how to get started in the wonderful work of carving watefowl and other species. He brought in some of his work to share with us which are truly pieces of art.

May 2007 Annual Picnic

In May we hold our annual picnic that is held at Love Park under the Muffin Shelter. We enjoyed barbequed pork steaks, brats, baked beans, potato salad and Bill Hilgeman’s world famous zucchini bread and venison summer sausage. A great time for family and members alike!

June 13th Members Meeting

In June we had a fine presentation by members Bob Rakey and Ken Liebel on the fine art of duck call making. Both Bob and Ken use different techniques and shared their secrets with us in creating these wonderful instruments. Look at the wonderful woods that are used, the different types of tools and check out Bob giving a calling demonstration on his Dixie duck call by selecting the link at the bottom of the page. If you missed this meeting, you missed a good on.

August 2007 Members Meeting

In August MDC representatives Tom Liefield and Chris Adams were on hand to present on Marais Temp Claire. They focused on the upcoming dove and teal seasons and how MDC pictures into the equation.

Blind Drawing 2008

Every other year the Missouri Department of Conservation holds a blind drawing for blinds in the Upper Mississippi Valley area. Each time the Association does well in these drawings.
